The second combined tapping machine successfully commissioned in Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant

In 2012, DHM GROUP has manufactured hydraulic tapping equipment by the order of SKB SIBELECTROTERM for Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant.

The unique project for OJSC Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant contained two combined hydraulic drilling and plugging machines for RKO-33 furnace designed for ferrosilicon smelting. State-of-the-art and challenging engineering solutions of that time, have been elaborated by DHM GROUP in the structure of mechanical components and remote-control systems of the equipment.

New equipment made it possible to improve labour conditions and significantly increased safety of workers. In addition, significantly increased operational life-cycle of the furnace taphole blocks.

One of the supplied machines was successfully commissioned in 2012, but installation of the second machine was postponed by the Client for undefined period. In the first months of this year, we received a request for installation. Having waited for 8 years, the machine was smoothly started up without any problems associated with long-term open-air storage in difficult weather conditions.

DHM GROUP is grateful to SKB SIBELECTROTERM and Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant for the long-standing cooperation and reliance. We are proud that among all the ferroalloy furnaces of Russia the number of machines produced by DHM GROUP is now increased by one.
