Trough cover manipulator
Efficient trough cover handling on the cast house
To avoid cast iron cooling prior to its draining into the mixer or ladle and to ensure the effective aspiration of cast houses, the main and all troughs are covered with stationary and removable covers.
Hydraulic manipulators can lift and move the removable covers, providing access for taphole machines. Using manipulators helps to fully cover the main trough, increasing the safety of maintenance personnel and efficiently capturing gas and dust through the aspiration system of the blast furnace cast house.

Different types of manipulators
Stationary column-mounted
Used when space of the cast house is limited and the manipulator cannot be placed on a foundation platform.
Stationary non-rotary type
Used when the turning radius is restricted; the manipulator cover is moved by lifting and dragging it.
Stationary rotary type
Universal type of manipulator used to rotate and move the cover under the overhead crane of the cast house.
Tuyere platform attachment
Used when the angle between tapholes is very small, and there is no space to place a stationary manipulator.
Swivel type with a short console
Used when space of the cast house allows to place a stationary foundation, and one manipulator can service two tapholes.
Console with an additional hook
The manipulator design allows for servicing several tapholes and supplying materials to the tuyere platform.
