In June 2013, DHM GROUP completed the manufacturing, testing and shipment of a hydraulic equipment complex for servicing cast-iron tapholes of blast furnace No. 4 of Zaporizhstal PJSC.
The supply of equipment for the cast house of BF-4 is another important step in our practical activities, as it confirms the high efficiency of design developments, the quality of manufacturing of the machines of the complex and the partner reliability of the company. It is at Zaporizhstal that since May 2000 the first set of hydraulic equipment for the cast house of BF-3, created by the company, has been successfully operated. Later, in 2004, the plant’s second set of equipment at BF-2 was put into operation. The machines for tapping and closing tap hole, tilting runners, and a pumping and accumulating station with a control system, which are part of the complex for BF-4, represent a new generation of high-quality, reliable technological equipment in operation.
At present, on the instructions of Zaporizhstal PJSC, a new design of a manipulator for working with removable covers has been developed and is in production, taking into account the limited areas of the cast house and allowing servicing both BF-4 tap holes in turn. The presence of a manipulator for lifting removable covers of the main chutes as part of the equipment of the complex will ensure the effective removal of exhaust gases and dust during pouring of cast iron. Delivery of the manipulator is scheduled for November 2013.
