DHM GROUP will supply cast house tapping equipment for one of the most powerful blast furnaces in Europe. In September of this year, a contract was signed between DHM GROUP and ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih for the supply of state-of-the art set of equipment for blast furnace №-9, the most powerful in Ukraine and one of the World’s largest furnaces with a volume of over 5 000 m3.

According to the WorldSteel Association, Asian countries occupy leading positions among all of steel producers and exporters. More and more companies in the Asian market tend to build large furnaces to increase their volume of steel production. This fact significantly raises the bar for companies specializing in the design and manufacturing of tapping equipment for the blast furnaces. After all, furnaces with a volume of over 4 000 m3 are strategically important facilities for any enterprise and require only the most reliable and powerful equipment for servicing production processes.

Until last few years, only some highly specialized companies with rich experience could produce tapping equipment for furnaces of such volume. However, the market is developing rapidly and there are appearing more and more professionals ready to meet such challenges. DHM GROUP, which has celebrated 25 years in the market, has already managed to earn an inspiring reference list and unique experience of working with furnaces of various sizes all over the world. Our equipment has proven itself being operated both on small furnaces of 200 m3 and on giants of Ironmaking. And since September of this year, the list of our references has been supplemented by one of the largest BF in the World.

For BF-9 with a volume of over 5 000 m3, a complete set of modern hydraulic tapping equipment will be individually designed and supplied. The package will include taphole drilling/plugging machines, trough cover manipulators, tilting runners, hydraulic power units and most advanced automated control systems.

Almost 47 years ago, in 1972, a project of construction of the giant blast furnace №-9 was as grandiose as itself: 18 067 thousand m³ of land were taken out, 261.4 thousand m³ of concrete and reinforced concrete were laid. December 30, 1974, in record time, the BF-9 was put into operation.

At the time of commissioning, it was the most powerful blast furnace in the world, equipped with an automatic control system using computer technology. In the 2021, the BF-9 will be completely reconstructed into the most modern blast furnace in Ukraine.

This project is the most important step in the growth of DHM GROUP. It proves and demonstrates in practice the ability of our equipment to meet the highest requirements of the iron and steel industry as well as our Clients. For 25 years of its activity, DHM GROUP already has experience in the production of equipment for more than 30 blast furnaces of various sizes. We are rapidly developing production, scientific and technological capacities in order to most effectively meet the needs of our customers in a constantly evolving market.

DHM GROUP is one of the leaders in the production of tapping equipment for the blast furnaces of any volume.
